The Volvo Em90 is an upcoming electric vehicle (minivan) to be produced by Volvo. Swedish carmaker Volvo Cars has officially unveiled its new car, the Volvo Em90. The Volvo EM90 is specially developed for the Chinese market; later, it may be launched in other countries. The Volvo EM90 is based on the Volvo scalable SEA Platform. The Volvo EM90 is inspired by the carmaker’s EX90 electric (SUV).
The Volvo Em90 is described by Volvo as ‘Scandinavian living room on wheels,’ featuring high-end features. It is initially targeted at China. According to HT Auto, there are potential plans for the EV to venture into other countries in the future.
The Volvo EM90 will be the first fully electric MPV from the Volvo company. The dimensions of the Volvo car are 5,206 mm in length, 2,024 mm in width, and 1,859 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3205 mm.
The Volvo EM90 is the first Volvo car with sliding doors for rear seats. The Volvo EM90 MPV will come with iconic Volvo elements like Thor’s Hammer LED headlights and taillights. The Volvo Em90 is the first Volvo vehicle to feature an illuminated logo at the front. The Volvo EM90 second-row seats come with massage functionality, seat ventilation, a heating feature, a built-in table, and a built-in cup holder.
The Volvo EM90 comes with a panoramic sunroof that spans the entire cabin. It is accompanied by curtains and varous ambient light to establish a Scandinavian ambiance. Volvo thinks the EM90 can be used as a workspace or meeting room. Alongside it comes with a 15.4-inch touchscreen in the front seat and a 15.6-inch screen that can be lifted down from the roof for the back seat.
The Volvo EM90 features an engine that has a maximum output of 272 horsepower and can achieve 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.3 seconds. The battery capacity of the EM90 is 116 kWh. As per China’s CLTC test cycle, the EM90 can provide a range of 738 kilometers on one charge.
